Chamber News You Can Use

December 2006 The November 30th Chamber Breakfast was sponsored by the Indiantown Gas Company, a long time supporter of this Chamber and featured Insurance Specialist Alex Ades who described how his organization can help reduce group insurance premiums for both large and small businesses today. This special program is only available to members of the Indiantown Chamber of Commerce as a result of a special alliance with the Stuart-Martin County Chamber that has offered this member benefit for the past two years. If you are interested in more information about this special benefit for Chamber members only, call Alex Ades directly at 1-954-757-5579 or send him an e-mail at alexades@bellsouth.net. Juan Mendez of South Fork High School was named the Student of the month and was introduced by Vice Principal, Beverly Uhl.

There will be no Chamber Breakfast in December 2006.

The next Chamber Breakfast will be held on Thursday, January 25th at 7:45 am in the Recreation Center at Indianwood.  New Chamber member Floridian Natural Gas Storage Company, LLC will sponsor the breakfast and will present details on their planned new Natural Gas Storage Facility in Indiantown. This will surely be a well-attended breakfast so advance reservations will be ever important. The same great meal and fellowship with other members and guests will still be offered at $10 with those who request to be invoiced paying $15.

With the intent of making some major revisions to the Chamber Bylaws, including how people are nominated and elected to the Chamber Board, all existing Board members have been serving in a one-year term that ends December 31, 2006. A nominating Committee was appointed and after considering a variety of qualifications and strengths of a number of individuals, a slate of Directors and Officers was prepared to present to the Board for discussion and approval.  At the November Chamber Board meeting, the following members were unanimously elected to the Chamber Board in a combination of one, two and three years terms so that at least four new people can be nominated for the Board in subsequent years.

Anastasini Family Circus - February 16-18, 2007
The Chamber has agreed to sponsor the Anastasini Family Circus to appear in Indiantown with six performances on Friday through Sunday, February 16-18, 2007. This Circus has been operated first in Europe and then in North America by the Anastasini family since 1877. The main tent seats up to 1,000 people and the show has received rave reviews form other Chambers of Commerce who have worked with them in the past. Free tickets will be provided to all elementary school age children in Indiantown. This will be a fund raising event for the Chamber and we will be looking for some business sponsors to help. More news to follow.

2006 Indiantown Christmas Parade
The December 9th Indiantown Christmas Parade was sponsored by the Chamber in cooperation with our good friends and neighbors at the Indianwood Homeowners Association. With over 400 people and 35 separate units in the parade, it was a real hit with the thousands who turned out for the event. A huge vote of appreciation goes to Art Matson, Vice President of the Indianwood HOA and a Director of the Chamber who served as parade Chairman. Prime sponsors Ascot Development (Quillen Village) and FPL made the event feasible and we thank them for their support.

The Indiantown area is in for some exciting times over the next several years as the community actually begins to see the physical development that has been long discussed and anticipated. It is the mission of your Chamber to be ready to assist in anyway possible during these history making years.

The Chamber Board has authorized the development of a new level of recognition for top leaders and financial supporters of the Chamber who annually provide significant additional funding that has made it again feasible to operate the Chamber on a full time basis: These companies will become Trustees of the Chamber and will have the right, but not an obligation, to attend all meetings of the Board and participate fully when present. They will be named and introduced in the next Chamber newsletter.

This is the season when we pay special attention to giving thanks and giving to others and we express heartfelt appreciation for each of the members who support this Chamber.

Happy Holidays To All
